Mysterious and graceful, the great blue heron is one of the most awe-inspiring creatures of the New River landscape. It’s no wonder that people who are drawn to the river are intrigued by this unique bird. Like us, the heron finds nourishment in pausing quietly along the river banks, watching the gentle flow of rippling waters. Fishing enthusiasts admire the heron’s relaxed patience and keen ability to strike at just the right moment for the perfect catch.
The heron flies majestically above, yet also has long, strong legs that anchor it to the earth. They serve as a reminder to stay grounded in nature as we fly through life. A natural characteristic of the heron is its love of standing solitary and calm by the river, embracing the wisdom that comes from stillness and quiet reflection.
Much like its namesake, Blue Heron Cabin celebrates the peace and joy that awaits us when we simply sit quietly with nature and embrace the gifts it offers.
If Black Bear is occupied on your chosen dates, try Black Bear - it has the identical plan just flipped and is walking distance from Blue Heron. Osprey's Landing, Black Bear, and Blue Heron are all side by side and prefect for gatherings of up to 18 people.
